Epic Butt #1(sold as a BUTT ONLY) is a GLUE THROUGH BUTT design, this butt does not have a detachable ferrule system. This butt is geared with octagonal hoods, matching nuts and nylon washers. A machined flat on the reel seat ensures anti-reel rotation while fighting the fish. EPIC Butt #1 comes with a short or long mushroom gimbal. Created to accept most reelsin the standard 30# 50# Class. We find that this is an excellent butt for “light tackle” trolling and chunking rods that you would fish a Talica 20, 25 or similar sized reel with, or a standard 30 or 30W class reel. Comes with a Short and Long gimbal to be installed by the rod builder as preferred.
Epic Butt #2 isthe newest fluted straight butt capable of accepting a standard size #2 ferrule. This butt features the same adjustable hoods and ferrule-nut as used on the Winthrop Terminator Adjusta Butt to accommodate different size reels. Epic Butt #2 comes with choice of short or long gimbal installed. This is an excellent choice for those looking for a detachable butt optionto fit most standard30/30W, 50/50W, or 70 size reels.
Epic Butt #2is the same collet nut thread pattern as #2 in”standard” brands (Aftco, ALPS, etc.) of regular aluminum rod butts for those looking to swap out butts on rods that have an existing collet/ferrule installed on them.
